The COVID-19 Response Award
2020 will be historic for the tragedy of a pandemic but it will also be the year remembered for the super human efforts made by people across communities to come together in a spirit of solidarity, cooperation and kindness to help their fellow citizens. The health crisis and its associated economic crisis cut a swathe through Scotland leaving no one unaffected. From care workers working in homes for the elderly to volunteers working with the homeless through to civil servants helping to structure emergency response strategies, everyone was rose to the challenge of unprecedented times. This award will go to an individual or organisation that saw a specific need as a consequence of the virus’s impact and acted to meet that.
